We celebrated Marley's first birthday on Saturday. She was such a hoot! For the past few months, she has been crazy about puppy dogs. So, of course we had a puppy dog party. Here's a few pictures from the party and a video of her eating her cake...no hands required for this girl :)

Alright, Michael and I are pretty amused by this.... we were standing outside talking to some friends and this car pulls up in the driveway. A lady gets out with a sign in her hand and says "you've won the yard of the month." You would think we had won the lottery by our response! So, we put the sign right next to our 'House For Sale' sign. Hehehe, maybe that will spark someone's interest in buying our house!!!!

Soccer Champ

Aubrey Kate received her first trophy the other night. I think she enjoyed soccer, but often times during the game, she was practicing her ballet moves! The aggressiveness was a bit too much for her. We are so proud of her for having such a great attitude and sticking with it. Way to go AK!

Fun Weekend

The kiddos went down to my parents for the weekend to give me a much needed break. Michael and I had the best time just doing whatever we wanted. Out of all the fun things, I think kayaking out in the Reservoir was my fav! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Happy Birthday, Aubrey Kate!

We celebrated Aubrey Kate's birthday this weekend with a big shah-bang! We had a princess party and all her sweet little friends came dressed in their prettiest princess dresses. The special guest was Cinderella (AKA: Mrs. Jeanie :) ). I think the best part of the party was the jumpy house, which we set up in the garage b/c of all the rain!

Today was Aubrey Kate's first soccer practice. She had a blast and did such a great job! I'm so proud of her, not just for playing soccer, but for being such a great little girl. I can tell she really does her best and has a good attitude with whatever she is doing. She's such a delight!

Aubrey Kate didn't crawl until after her first birthday, so when Marley started crawling at 6.5 months, it really threw me for a loop! She's into EVERYTHING!! Aubrey Kate never pulled anything out or made a mess. I left Marley in her room for two seconds and she pulled ALL of her blankets out of her shelves! It's fun, and exciting, to see how different our two girls are. What a blessing!

Not this year!

If you'll look at last year's post about Santa, you'll see that it didn't go over too well with Aubrey Kate! I did manage to stick her in his lap and get a picture. Anyway, this year, it ain't happenin'! She won't even look at him and she says that she doesn't want him to come to our house. So, we decided to write him a letter. Since this summer, all Aubrey Kate has talked about getting for Christmas is a pink guitar. Michael took her to a music store back in June and she must have seen one. She really has a heart for music, so I hope Santa gets his letter and can get his little elves to make her one!! :)

My Birthday

My birthday was last Saturday, 11/29. Despite Michael having to work, it was a great day. I took my two little sweeties out to eat lunch and we watched a few Strawberry Shortcake movies :) After a long day at work, my big sweetie came home and baked me a birthday cake (strawberry, my favorite!).

Daily Happenings

Wow! Two posts in one day! That's never happened before! Anyway, thought these pics were cute. One of Daddy and the girls, some of Aubrey Kate and her first night in her "big girl bed," and another of Aubrey Kate being treated like a princess! (occasionally, i will let her watch tv while eating breakfast!) Enjoy!

Pumpkin Patch "08

We went to the Pumpkin Patch last week w/the pre-school group from church. We had a great time. Thank you Tammy for watching Marley so that I could go on the hay-ride w/Aubrey Kate!

Tupelo

We took a trip to Tupelo this weekend to visit my grandmother (Mamaw Cantrell). As a child, I always looked forward to our Tupelo trips. I'm so happy to be able to take my own children up for visits, as well. This was Mamaw's first time to meet Marley (we named Marley after Mamaw Cantrell: Clara Faye/Marley Clara). We had a great time visiting and eating (Mamaw is a great cook!). We also went over to the Veteran's Memorial Park. My grandfather served in the U.S. Army and there is a paver stone on display in his honor. Looking forward to next time!

Sweet Treats

For the past couple of Thursday afternoons, Aubrey Kate and I have had a "sweet tooth." So, what to do other than to make some sweet treats, for Daddy, of course! Last week it was homemade chocolate chip cookies. This week, it's rice krispy treats, with a twist. We made them with cocoa krispies (if you've never tried it, they are great!).
